Dr. Jodi Werfal is a Veterinarian and Co-Owner, at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. Her interest in veterinary medicine began during a mentor program in high school and she went on to obtain a degree in Veterinary Technology in 1984. She graduated from Louisiana State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1991 and has been working with TotalBond Veterinary Hospitals. In 1994, she because the director of TotalBond Veterinary Care at Bethel, formerly Bethel Animal HealthCare Hospital. Her professional area of interest includes all aspects of small animal surgery, including laser surgery.
Dr. Werfal is enjoys being active in community projects and currently shares her home with her husband Greg, who is also a veterinarian. She has two daughters, both of whom are currently attending college. In her spare time, Dr. Werfal enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, and tending to the family's menagerie of pets.
Dr. Hadley Harris is a Veterinarian, Medical Director and Co-Owner at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. Originally from Rock Hill, SC, Dr. Harris grew up in a household full of animals and has been an animal lover since she was a small child. She graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and was very active in the pre-veterinary programs. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine and performed a small animal rotating internship following graduation at a local referral and emergency hospital. She joined the TotalBond family in July 2015 and has loved every second of it.
At home Dr. Harris has two dogs, Paisley and Charlie, and two cats, Webster and noodle, all of whom are rescues. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Isabel Plourde is a Veterinarian and Co-Owner at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Kenyon College and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She joined the TotalBond team following graduation and spent her first year and a half rotating between the five locations. Now, Dr. Plourde primarily practices at our Lake Wylie, SC location. Her special interests include internal medicine and helping patients who have long-term conditions feel better on a day-to-day basis. She is trained to perform full abdominal ultrasounds, which aids her internal medicine interest. She works hard to keep your pet’s visit as low-stress as possible.
She shares her home in Charlotte with her husband, their new baby girl, and two dogs named Cash and Badu. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. A fun fact about Dr. Plourde is that one of the experiences that influenced her decision to go into veterinary medicine was a semester spent abroad in Kenya studying wildlife management.
Dr. Peter Rowan is an Associate Veterinarian at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel and TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Forestbrook. He attended Clemson University and received his bachelor’s degree in 2017 and went on to complete his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2021. While there, he also obtained a Graduate Business Minor in Health Sciences. Dr. Rowan grew up in Bethesda, MD, right outside of Washington, DC. He now shares his home in Mt. Holly, NC with Dr. Sara Toner and their 9-year-old Pitbull mix, Sydney.
Dr. Rowan’s passion for animals began at a young age and his first pet, a Leopard Gecko named Emmett, is still alive and now 21 years old! He volunteered at the National Zoo in Washington, DC and the Montgomery County Humane Society where he fostered 67 kittens over the course of seven years.While at Clemson, Dr. Rowan studied abroad in Sydney, Australia at the Randwick Equine Centre where he worked with racehorses. Dr. Rowan loves to travel, attend concerts and sporting events and spending time at the beach. He is especially very passionate about college football. He is excited to join the TotalBond Team and cannot wait to meet everyone’s family members!
Dr. Aine Schanche is an Associate Veterinarian at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. Dr. Schanche earned her Bachelor of Science from Swarthmore College in 2016 and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Dr. Schanche completed her clinical training at the University of Pennsylvania and worked as an Ocean State Veterinary Specialist intern in 2021 before switching her focus to small animal general practice and working at a hospital outside of Boston. Her areas of professional interest include surgery and preventative care. Dr. Schanche was inspired to join the veterinary field after spending several weeks shadowing mixed animal veterinarians in Ireland. According to Dr. Schanche, the best part about being a veterinarian is being able to educate clients on how they can help their pets live the healthiest lives.
Although Dr. Schanche grew up in northern New Jersey, her mother is from Ireland and her father is from Norway. In her free time, Dr. Schanche enjoys going for walks with her 4-year-old schnauzer named Siggi, exercising, eating good food, spending time with her family, baking bread, reading, and visiting breweries.
Dr. Katie Adams Propst is an Associate Veterinarian at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. Dr. Propst earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from Clemson University in 2008 and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Throughout her education, Dr. Propst worked with a variety of small animal and mixed animal practices. Her areas of professional interest include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and reproduction. From a young age, Dr. Propst always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian.
When she was only five years old, Dr. Propst asked Santa for a pregnant goat, and she got one! After helping with the difficult delivery of a foal at just twelve years old, Dr. Propst affirmed that she truly did want to become a veterinarian one day. According to Dr. Propst, the best part about working in the veterinary field is building relationships with pets, clients, and staff and being able to help cure animals. Dr. Propst grew up in York County, South Carolina on a small horse farm. She now lives in Sharon with her husband, Dewayne, and their three rescue dogs, three domestic short-hair cats, fourteen horses, and a mini donkey. In her free time, Dr. Propst enjoys spending time with family, reading, fishing, and raising, breeding, riding, and showing her horses.
Dr. Jaime Uren is the newest Associate Veterinarian with TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 2018 from Ohio State University, and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 from Purdue University. During her clinical year, she had the opportunity to do an externship with TotalBond at Forestbrook! She has a professional interest in internal medicine, animal behavior, and the human-animal bond.
Dr. Uren began working in the veterinary field in 2016 and shadowed veterinarians any chance she could. Her family dog, Tessa, was her inspiration for making veterinary medicine her career. Dr. Uren’s favorite part of the day is helping clients maintain the human-animal bond with their loved ones, by providing the best care she can.
Dr. Uren grew up outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan and recently made the move to sunny Charlotte, North Carolina. Having spent so much of her time fostering service dogs for 4 Paws for Ability, she hopes she can adopt her very own fur baby. While she loves her goats, a dog is most likely to be in her future soon! Outside of work, Dr. Uren enjoys baking, biking, reading, and of course spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Gabriella Shook is the newest Associate Veterinarian with TotalBond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. Dr. Shook attended Virginia Tech for three years studying Animal and Poultry Sciences, Agriculture, and Applied Economics, and went to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional certified in Shelter Medicine, and had a professional interest in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, and animal behavior.
Dr. Shook began her veterinary career in 2015 when she worked as a receptionist at her local vet clinic and transitioned to working as a veterinary assistant. She continued working as a veterinary assistant through her summers while attending college to get her degree. Dr. Shook finds she is inspired the most through the day when she teams up with her clients to ensure their four-legged babies are receiving the best care possible.
While Dr. Shook grew up in a small town in Virginia, she now lives in Charlotte with her adopted dog Piper and her adopted cat Harry. While she is not stuffing Piper and Harry full of treats, Dr. Shook enjoys reading, thrifting, volunteering, kayaking, hiking, playing sports, and anything else outdoors!

Katie joined the TotalBond team in 2017 as a Registered Veterinary Technician and is a true animal lover. She has a large heart and frequently adds animals to her menagerie. Currently, she has six dogs, five cats, three horses, three goats, two pigs, a bearded dragon, and a blue-tailed skink living on her farm. Katie frequently fosters other animals along with own, including two special needs kittens that later found successful homes. When she is not taking care of her own animals, her fosters, or working with her patients, Katie can be found at the Rodeo and barrel racing.
Megan joined the TotalBond team in 2014. Originally from Upstate New York, she moved to North Carolina with her father to purse the Veterinary Medical Technology program at Gaston College where she graduated in 2015 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She shares her home with two dogs, Luna and Diesel, and four cats, Cyrus, Cleo, Reid, and Raven. Megan enjoys hiking, swimming, watching movies, and cooking in her spare time.
Originally from England, Michelle spent 23 years in emergency medicine before joining the TotalBond team in 2017. Michelle and her husband, Jay, share their home with their two daughters, Abbi and Devon, three dogs, Digger, AJ, and Luna, four cats, Evie, Delilah, Gracie, and Dolly, and horse, Levi. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time outside, preferable in her garden or on the beach.
Jenn has been a member of the TotalBond team since 2014. She graduated from Clemson University in 2012 with a degree in Pre-Veterinary Science and started working in the veterinary industry immediately after graduation. She has worked to continue her education during her time with TotalBond and has trained in Feline Friendly techniques and Low Stress Handling. She shares her home with five spoiled cats and two very spoiled dogs and enjoys spending time with her animals, pc gaming, and being outdoors in her spare time.
Tanya joined the Bethel team in 2020 as a Veterinary Technician and has been working in the veterinary field for 15 years. After pursuing a degree in accounting from York Technical College following high school, her passion and love for animals led her to Midland Technical College to get her Animal Care and Control certificate. Born and raised in Sharon, SC. Family is extremely important to her, and you can find her spending time with her three children, Robert, Reba, and Nicholas, and her dog, Cooper. She enjoys spending time by the pool, listening to music, trips to the mountains, and a love for Jeeps!
Jojo joined the Bethel team in 2020 as a Veterinary Technician and has been working in the veterinary field for 11 years. She has had a love of animals since a young age and went to York Tech to get her Veterinary Assistant certificate following her graduation from high school. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jojo moved to Clover, SC in 1999. Family is very important to her and you can find her spending time with her husband, his son, and their four dogs, Si, Dexter, Fritz, and Cooper, in her spare time.
Heather joined the TotalBond team in 2017 as a veterinary technician. She grew up in a small town in North Carolina where she always had a dog. She has had a love for animals for as long as she can remember and wants to share that love with her daughter. She currently cares for the clinic's resident feline, Gemma, and enjoys fostering puppies and kittens when needed. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her friends and family.

Danielle, a Tega Cay native, joined the TotalBond team in 2017. Having always wanted to work in the veterinary industry, she pursued a degree in Biology and graduated from Converse College in 2015. She has several years experience in animal care, having worked with rodents, birds, reptiles, and even big cats in the past. She has two fur-children, Pippin, a ‘supermutt’, and Thor, a Great Pyrenees, whose shenanigans and funny antics never fail to make her laugh. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, and other artistic pursuits.
Born and raised in Gastonia, NC, Devon followed in her mother's footsteps and pursued a career in veterinary medicine. She plans on attending Gaston Community College to become a veterinary technician and has a dog named Luna, who is her best friend, and a kitten she adopted from TotalBond named Dolly Mae. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, fishing, and going to the dog park with Luna.
Hanna was born and raised in Gastonia, NC. She joined the Bethel team in 2021 and has absolutely loved every second of her job. She has always had a love for animals which led her to the veterinary field. She has two spoiled fur babies of her own, Bentley and Birkley. In her spare time, she enjoys laughing with friends, shopping, and taking naps.
Malena joined the TotalBond team back in 2002 and worked at our Forestbrook location until 2016, when she joined us here at Bethel. She loves coming to work each day and helping make a difference in the lives of all the furry babies on both the good and bad days. She and her husband, Chad, have a daughter, Grace, who is a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Go Niners), and a sweet Pit bull/Great Dane Maysie.
Originally from New York, Rene has been part of the TotalBond family not once, but twice! She joined us at Bethel from 1998 until 2009, and rejoined the team in 2019. She is thrilled to be back working at Bethel with an awesome team. She shares her life with her husband, Boston Terriers, Chihuahuas, cats, and horses that she trail rides. She enjoys the visiting the mountains whenever she can and shopping at thrift and antique stores.
Janet joined the TotalBond team in 2020 as a Customer Service Representative. Originally from Massachusetts, she moved to South Carolina with her husband and her dog, Sadie Mae. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, hiking, and going to the beach.
