She grew up in Rock Hill, SC where her family household was always full of animals. She attended Clemson University where she majored in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and was very active in the pre-veterinary programs. After graduating from Clemson, she attended Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she performed a small animal rotating internship with a local referral and emergency hospital. In July of 2015, she joined the TotalBond family and has loved every minute of it.

Charcoal Fire Burn Heat Grill Flame Fuel Dr. Caitlin Tipton Veterinarian I am originally from Troy, Michigan. I attended Michigan State University for my undergraduate degree and attended Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Immediately after graduation my husband and I achieved our dream of moving to the beautiful state of North Carolina. We had our first child May 2017 and also have a German Shepherd Mix named Heidi and a cat named Ninya. I have been with TotalBond since 2014 and am honored to be given the opportunity to care for your pet. Dog Relax Sleep Relaxation Nose Head Tired Close Dr. Emily Messner Veterinarian Dr. Messner’s veterinary career comes from two passions- one being the joy of helping others to learn and understand, the other from a fascination with living systems. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Arkansas, then returned to her home state of Oklahoma and earned her DVM from Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Health Sciences in 2014.

She first came to TotalBond Veterinary Hospitals even prior to graduating veterinary school, spending several weeks as a student extern during her senior year. It seemed such the right fit that she subsequently joined TBVH family the following spring as an associate, rotating between the different hospital locations. In the summer of 2015 she became established at TBVH’s Mountain Island Lake Clinic and sister hospital, Paw Creek. In 2017, she was excited to move to Bethel - being TotalBond's busiest location. She relishes this, as she is eager to help as many pets as possible.

The areas of practice that she most enjoys include behavior, dermatology, preventative care, internal medicine.

She is owned by a 7 year old Beagle-mix, Belle, adopted from the Fayetteville Animal Shelter in Arkansas and has been a terrific travel companion ever since. She and her husband, Dylan, enjoy letting her nose lead us through the hiking trails of North Carolina. They (not including Belle) are also active members of the Gaston County Jaycees.
